Laser applications in the field of Dentistry have been a great scientific interest throughout the last decades and a wide variety of laser systems has been highly investigated in literature. Diode lasers are solid-state devices that generate coherent light from semiconductor materials. Diode lasers' compact size, robust construction, and adaptability allow them to be used for a variety of dental procedures. Soft tissue surgery, photodynamic therapy (PDT), treatment of oral pathologies, endodontic system decontamination, gingival depigmentation, tooth bleaching, periodontal pocket disinfection, and Photobiomodulation (PBM) are just some of the dental applications for which these lasers are utilized. In PBM, for instance, Diode lasers are employed to treat pain and promote tissue repair. The laser photonic energy penetrates overlying tissue, stimulating cellular metabolism, reducing inflammation, and alleviating pain.

This Diode Laser Workshop provides a thorough discussion of the advantageous applications and efficient implementation of Diode lasers in several areas of dentistry. The primary goals of the workshop consist of the following:

  • Introduction to Dental Laser Technology focusing on Diode lasers
  • Understanding Laser-Tissue Interaction
  • Overview of the advantages and biological benefits over conventional tools
  • Learning how to implement Diode Lasers in all dental clinical applications
  • Mastering the Use of the Diode Laser device
  • Clinical Cases discussion
  • Hands-on Applications on real soft tissue jaw
